The College has a staff of experienced specialist teachers with a teacher ratio of approximately one teacher per twelve learners. The average class size varies between 12 - 14 learners. Post matric students attend classes on a daily basis for the full year, and are required to complete all tasks and test (including CASS requirements) with the full-time matric students. Regular progress reports (seven per year) are sent to parents. Career guidance is also an intricate part of our focus.
Learners are treated as young adults within a sensible, monitored and supportive environment, and in turn are expected to behave accordingly. A culture of trust, mutual respect and honesty is encouraged. Students are taught to realise that a great deal of focussed study is required of them. They are encouraged to develop self-discipline, a sense of responsibility, and personal accountability. The college practices a zero tolerance to drugs and has a sensible, encouraging code of conduct which is respected and supported by the learners.
Homework is set and daily home study is expected; all assignments are checked and marked, with frequent evaluations taking place. Regular tests are written in preparation for the mid year and final examinations.
Daily attendance is essential and a requirement for all learners.
